Eyewash Solution solution

Although rather expensive, you have to realize they had to go through extensive testing to prove their product safe. This probably cost them extensively. So once the formula has been deemed safe, they just pass this cost onto the consumer. Not to mention all the lawsuits they have to endure every year. This cost is also passed onto the consumer. So to protect yourself, be very careful of what you put in your eyewash station.

I hope no one tries to tell you how to make a "safe" solution, that after 2 years ferments into alcohol, or becomes moldy with bacteria - only to cause more damage. I'm not affiliated to any safety company but have been involved with a couple of "unsafe" lawsuits. You'd be amazed what people get away with on both sides.

I would not want to be the guy responsible for a non-FDA approved eyewash in my first aid cabinet, for a lot of reasons. #1 is what could happen to someone if it went bad, #2 is what my executives would do to me for putting the shareholders at risk. :

look elsewhere mate ! you cant put a price on health and safety ..if my boss even hinted at something like that - we would be having a major fall out. . .

Would you be able to use a piped water eye wash system? That way the water is always fresh. I'm sure I saw a variety of such sytems when I was looking for a stand for our eye wash station. The big problem of course is if you don't have plumbing where you want the station. The closest we have plumbing is behind the board washer but we can't have the eye wash station so inaccesible.
