Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew of a backdoor setting in these machines that will allow you to change the machine configuration. At my company, we have one operator who decided it would be nice to lock everyone out of the user menus. He deleted all of the teach board and teach vision options under the TEACH menu. No matter if you log in as operator, supervisor or maintenance will you get access to these menus. Any one have any idea how I can get these options back? Also is it possible to change the configuration of the machine so that when it is set to manual print, the pcb will enter on the left side and exit on the left side as well? Any help will be appreciated.

I've done this stuff on UP3000's and AP's so hopefully my advice will help with your 2000...

You can get into all upper level user modes, correct? You don't mention test, cal. or field service mode. If you can't get into those, I can send you a procedure to help you regain access (change passwords). You might find missing pull-downs you need in the upper level modes. If your pull-down for user mode does not allow you to change up to any modes above "user", then you might have a code problem in your machine config. - a bug that arises in UP3000's on occasion and maybe in 2000's, too but not sure??? I can help with that, also if you need. There should be a Maintenance item called "Modify Access" where you can change the access capabilities in the bottom three user modes. You should be able to access this in Supervisor mode or higher. As for manual mode board delivery, your machine config. has a line called "Manual Mode Output Side". You can set this to left or right. You change this in DOS (config.). You view these settings in Supervisor and above mode under machine configuration.

For this procedure you would need a keyboard. Go to your DOS prompt C:\ap> and type the following: optedt and press enter.Password for this is QMPM.

Good luck and keep us posted.
