Nitrogen chillers on Chinese waves | 7 July, 2006

I have noticed the Chinese wave solder manufacturer's are using chillers for their nitrogen inerted waves. I am perplexed as to why they do this as I haven't seen this on any other manufacturer's equipment manufactured in North America. Any ideas why and/or advantages/disadvantages to this? Thanks!

No Disadvantages The reason they are used is they cool the boards at 2deg/p/sec leadfree spec for N2.Remmember the chinese have been building LF for years and are more advanced that Europpe nad America and most of the equipment is backed by Japanese technology.

"Chinese" and "advanced" should not be used in the same sentence.

I too was curious but afraid of being called names or being accused of being born in the "wrong" country. I know why lead free has to be cooled, but wanted to know what Tonka had seen? His thread almost makes it sound like they inert ans cool at the same time (?).
