So the guys in our technical center found this article and wanted to know why we even had Process Engineers.

You just KNOW they used a dishwasher. Whether or not they took the dishes out of it is anyone's guess.

Hi Real Chunks! Hope to see you in LA February. You planning to attend that Bismuth seminar? :-)

Anywho...so true. Some Design Engrs. who've never done any real work in their lives think that we can make printed circuit board assemblies using common household items. They reduce our work to a 6th Grade home-ec class!

Hi Samir,

Bismuth seminar! Good ol' Jenny.

Yes, you should see me there! No karaoke this year, OK? You singing rap tunes is just so..... WRONG!

Now, now, Bag the guys in the Technical Centre all you want, but don't be too hard on the Seattle Robot Guys. They're just trying to find a way to make something. Sort of like building a PC with a paddle-pop stick and a bit of fencing wire. By the way Chunks - what's a Technical Centre? I'm serious.

Hi Darby,

No, I'm not cutting on the robot guys. I actually went thru their site and found it interesting. They truely use their knowledge and creativity, which is a rare thing to find these days. That, coupled with their common sense and resourceful way to "home reflow", makes them 10%ers in my book.

Technical Center (or Centre) people are carbon units that know everything. They design products that takes 4 weeks to build 1 and expect real world people to build 4 thousand a week. They never spent any time on the manufacturing floor, but yet when they see an article like this, assume that what we do is child's play. Granted, they "invent" product (although we call this reverse engineering) but we have to build it correctly, without defects, using no new processes, and at a profit. Theyre just design guys.

Now what heck is a paddle-pop stick? Do I want to know?
