Dispensible Conductor Material for Bare Board Rework | 22 January, 2007

Can anyone recommend a material which can be used an a bare board:

1. Dispensed via a syringe 2. Mimmic the electrical characteristics of a trace 3. Be processed such that they do not reflow with the solder interconnect 4. Be processed such that the board can later be screen printed

I understand that there are service providers that can make these traces but I am looking for the material.

As a second question I am looking to, without a board respin, add a jumper to 2 pins of an SOIC-8. The idea would be to be able to put jumpers on a tape and reel as there thousands of boards.

Thanks

A common way to add traces to a fabricated board is to print polymer thick film [PTF] conductive ink.

PTF suppliers are: * Du Pont de Nemours, E. I. & Co. - Research Triangle Park, NC * Ercon, Inc. - Wareham, MA * Dow Corning * Asahi Chemical Research Laboratory http://www.asahi-kagaku.co.jp/e_polymer.html

* Electra http://www.electrapolymers.com/prodpages/elecdor.htm
