We recently added an SPM printer to our SMT department and I need to buy some tooling pins and center supports. Other than MPM, is there any aftermarket support for this machine? Can anyone point me towards any suppliers for the above mentioned parts?

Basically, I'd like to add a bunch of center supports, preferrably on magnetic mounts. The MPM version of the center support is screwed in place. The overall height of the magnetic mount would need to be one inch (1.0"). Thanks in advance! -Steve

I believe the table is aluminum. I think you will need to replace it if you want magnetic mounts. MPM has an upgrade, I cant remember what it costs, we thought it was too expensive but if your using it alot, its probably worth it, the screw in ones suck.

You are absolutely correct on the aluminum table. I spoke to quickly I guess.

Hmm our table is steel. We had extra supports made at a machine shop, bought the magnets from the hobby store. we basically just had steel rods cut off at 1" lengths and had a counterbore drilled to glue magnet in

You could probably put a 1/4" plate of steel over the aluminum and make some shorter magnet pins. I think the factory upgrade was $3500 to $4500. Its hard to justify the cost based on saving maybe 5 minutes a set-up for an operator. But your lines will be running that much more. Russ, im not sure how you lucked out and got a steel table!! Is it drilled every square inch like a normal one or just a flat surface?

I dug out my old info, the "quick-flex" tooling upgrade was $2750.00 about 6 years ago and you can upgrade the software to show you where to place the pins I guess for another $750.00 with a 10% discount for buying both. That was awhile ago.

Ours does not have a vacuum option so that may be it, the machine came with an assortment of standoffs and support plates as well. it is not drilled out in a grid but does have the center tapped which I assume is for the vacuum tooling. Ours has a 1 inch grid with rulers in both X and Y axis. our standoffs are one inch as well.
