Feeder Master Calibration jig. | 11 April, 2007

Hi. Have any of you tested the Feeder Master jig for your Panasonic and Fuji (or other) high speed feeders? We need to find a way to solve our problem with the take up reel tension that causes the over tape to cover the components especially on the Fuji feeders. Or do any of you know some other jig that messures this or another way to solve the problem?

Regards Joakim.

I have found a torque checker for the Fuji CP6 feeders. It is offered through fuji for a resonable price. The two other factors I have found for problems are the Guide cover not being clean or oil or dirt in the Reel itself. I have not tested the product yet, but have heard that Threebond, supercleaner 6602 works well.

Thanks for your reply! Have you tested the torque meter yourself? I have asked our supplyer if they had any but the answer I got was that they should check with Fuji, and that semes to be a slow process... We do mouthly mainteness on our highspeed feeders so that should not be the problem (I hope) We have also tryed with different springs but we are not able to find some that will work with all component tapes. The problem are not less with new feeders so there might be a bad construction of the feeders or that the speed of the CP-7 is to high for mechanical feeders. Regarding the Feeder master i have tryed it and...naah I will put my money in something better.

I am waiting for our parts order to come in with the Torque checker and I will post right away to let you know how it works. We only have the Fuji CP-6 feeders here, so I cannot help you with the problems with the CP7. I am looking into a calibration jig. That seems to be the way to go with any SMT operation. Some of the jigs come with a torque tester built in.
