Component not at nozzle before placement-0402 components | 12 December, 2007

Hi,everybody! There is an interesting things happened with the 0402 components- machine Siemens HF3,it's an Emergency Stop error message " Component not at nozzle before placement" and there is a chance to find an extra components lying in a mess on the board, after the placements were done. - The segments were totally changed - Also all the valves, don't mention nozzles - Different feeders used - Packages used - 100 & 101 from Siemens standards library - Nozzles used - 901 & 911 Appreciate any ideas

Hi Mefunak,

I'd say that the vacuum holding circuit is at fault. If the component is picked OK from the feeder ('vacuum check after pickup' is switched on) then the component is being dropped from the head as the gantry moves to the placement position. Just before the head goes to place the component the machine does another check of the vacuum circuit to ensure the component is still in place, if it isn't then you will get the error you have described. Check that none of the air lines are kinked or trapped behind the head and that the venturi system is clean, if people have been looking at the venturi check that they have put the air lines back in the correct locations. Just another point with regards to 0402's, you should give 925 nozzles a try.

If it's a 12 segment head you are using then check the distributor block behind the star.

And as a final check, as with with most Siemens faults, switch the machine of and on just to be sure .

Hoped this helps

Thank you,LLOYD,for your response, all your prepositions will be checked. And about switching machine on and off, I absolutely agree with you, it's the perfect cure for Siemens))) But,a strange thing happened,we changed a head, that started to make the problem, now both heads are faulty. To add suspense, another machine HS50 joined. Now, all the machines,we have in line are providing the same error message... Maybe, there is a bug inside GF itself? Or can it be compressor problem?
