Any recommendations? Looking for someone that's familiar (even intimate) with the IPC-TM-650 stuff.

Steve, IPC TM-650 Test Methods Manual is a load.

IPC TM-650 Test Methods Manual: Section 2.1 Visual Test Methods Section 2.2 Dimensional Test Methods Section 2.3 Chemical Test Methods Section 2.4 Mechanical Test Methods Section 2.5 Electrical Test Methods Section 2.6 Environmental Test Methods

Few test shops get intimate with its extent. What is your focus?

You can download all the IPC-TM-650 test methods from the IPC website. We've dealt with Trace Labs, but I'm not sure if they have a west coast branch.

You can download it??? Then why did they make me pay $200 for it?? Or did you mean it can be downloaded for a price? I'm sure it's not a freebee.

I liked Trace too, but no west coast site unfortunately.

Go to http://www.ipc.org/html/fsresources.htm, scroll down and click on downloadable resources and IPC-65-650 is there for the downloading, free. The problem is that you have to download each individual test method, you can't download the entire document or entire sections. If they do charge, I should be getting a hefty bill.

If you do not have any luck finding a west coast lab, but need services I am sure we can help. The only problem is we are on the east coast. Many moons ago empf was on the west coast (China Lake) but moved eastward. We are in Philadelphia, PA.

(skip the next paragraph to avoid a sales pitch) Three full SMT manufacturing line meeting different levels of manufacturing also included are Vapor Degreasing, in-line and Batch Cleaning, Wire Bonding, Chip scale processing, Rework, Solder paste inspection, analytical X-ray, Through-hole, wave soldering, lead -free processing. Other Labs include a full Chem lab, Full Materials lab, failure analysis lab, Environmental Lab and SEM LAB. Two new recent additions include Power Electronics Lab and RF (to 100GHz) Materials and Characterization lab.
