Fuji IP 2 Servo NG error?

Fuji IP 2 Servo NG error? | 9 March, 2009

Hi all,

Our IP-2 stop working during production with a Servo NG error. Turning it on and off just goes back to the same thing or "Turn servo power on" error message. I was checking the power for the servo amps and I found a 35VAC line that is missing (they have 110VAC and 35VAC). If I turn the MTU off and turn the power on the on the IP-2 the 35 VAC are there but the IP keeps saying "Waiting for MTU (st.1)". If I turn the MTU on at that time the 35VAC still there but the IP is still waiting for the MTU. If I turn the IP on with the MTU then the relay for the 35VAC trips. That 35VAC goes to Z2 which we never use. The servopacks have a dash and dot on their LED, which is a B-B alarm. This looks normal? The books we have are of little help. Can someone shed some light into this please? Thanks a bunch.

It is an FIP-II 4000. I rather do it through here so other people can benefit.

Thanks

ok Please power on the machine & confirmed that M1CP 2 is ok this is the breaker for the 35V & check M1cp1 now look at the drawings at address 1011 & check the axis ready relays Z1 11CS3x 151-GB Closed is ok if open see address 5402 Z1 servo amp is faulty Q1 11cs4x 152-GB Closed is ok if open see address 5405 Q1 servo amp is faulty

Z2 12cs3x 153-GB Closed is ok if open see address 6102 Z2 servo amp is faulty

Q2 12cs4x 154-GB Closed is ok if open see address 6105 Q2 servo amp is faulty

Confirm that M1CR4x is ok & address 1703 Servo Amp Ready

Let me know your findings & we can continue

Ok I checked and here are the results...

Z1 11CS3x Green LED on Q1 11cs4x Green LED on Z2 12cs3x Green LED off (This is the relay I mentioned in my original post). Q2 12cs4x Green LED on

M1CR4x Green LED off

The servopack SA-6 is the one with the missing 35VAC. It has a red LED that is on:"OC".

I just want to mention that the relay that trips (Z2 12cs3x), trips after the IP gets to the main operation screen.

Thanks for all the help.

yes this would be normal as that is when the servo power is supplied for servo lock, do you have a new servo amp?

Rodrigo, I'm not available tonight, if you have a new servo amp change it pay special attention to the jumper settings there are 2 types of amp you can fit see drawings for info. the original info you posted, re the MTU i believe is not related but expected with a servo amp failure when boot sequence is changed also whether you use Z2 or not doesn't mean it can't fail. you can isolate the MTU from IP2 by changing Status B bit 4 keep it connected to complete safety door and e stop circuits or jumber them out at terminal block(only to help you confirm). good luck & regards

I changed the satus B bit to disable the MTU (still on though). It doesn't wait for the MTU anymore but I get a Emergency and Door NG errors. The relay tripped. Is there a way to completely disable the MTU (leave it off) and power up the IP? This should still trip the relay right? I just want to double check that it will.

Oh, I don't have another servo amp. The defective amp is the one with the red OC led on right? There are other servos units that says servopacks in there.

Thanks

Even if you disable the MTU(see address 1005 to link out E-stop & address 1219 for the safety fence rear) the servo still needs to be replaced. SA6 is the faulty one, i'm sure there are many dealers who could supply you one. if you need further confirmation you could swap SA4 & SA6 Ensure to make the correct jumper settings then the error will be on SA4 (Z1) 11cs3x

We're going to swap SA-4 and 6 but it is going to take a few days. Thanks for all the help.

Follow up: We swapped SA-7 and SA6 (because SA-4 was different). The problem stayed with the original amp. so we're looking for a replacement. Our buyer is having problems finding one though. Do you know of any parts(s) that go bad in this amp?

Thanks again for all the help.

We replaced SA-6 with a new one and the IP2 is up and running. I don't know if you're still looking at this thread but I wanted to thank you and post the result so other people benefit.

Thanks so much for the help. Rodrigo
