Conformal Coating Equipment - Where to Start?

We have used an Asymtek C-740 for about three years now and its never had an issue even once. We spray Humiseal acrylic so I cant help you too much with the silicone but the machine itself is great.

Opt in for the little process control extras like automatic air control, fan width monitoring, etc to make the operators (and your) job much easier.

Cure: Compared to heat cure equipment, uV cure equipment requires less space, is faster, and is more expensive.

Hoss67, Instead of investing into a machine to coat these assemblies we (Diamond MT) are a coating house that can certianly meet your requirements as well as giving a vre competitive price. It would certainly save time and money trying to learn the systems and investing into machinery. I would even extend the oppurtunity to sample coat a few to give you the best up front pricing on these before you go and buy machiney. Asymtek in-line machine with the Jet head hands-down. And since you will be coating silicone you should virtually have no touch-up after it exits the machine because of the higher viscosity of this material.

Hi Hoss67, I have had really good luck with PVA (Precision Valve and Automation) as Dave had mentioned also. Good pricing on all types of systems and good design crew for special applications. They also provide UV curing systems if needed. Hope it helps!

Another system provider is SCS (Specialty Coating systems) Precision Coat Systems. Have a stable robust XYZ platform, standalone, inline configuration, Spray + Dispense and can offer Ultrasonic Nozzle Options if required. They also offer sure systems from UV to Thermal.

Before you look at any machine you need to match the coating type, viscosity, and coating requirements before selection of machine and options. Do you need dual feed one for spray and one for dispense ? Does our coating suit Ultrasonics or not ? VOC-Free or Solvent based etc etc
