Can anyone help me get this MPM AP27 going? | 28 September, 2009

My company recently purchased an MPM AP27 on the used market. I had the machine up and functional at one point, but now it is inoperable. I have correct power and air to the machine, but when I attempt to power it up, I get nothing. Red light on the light tower is on, but will not boot up. If anyone out there can help me troubleshoot this bad boy and get it rolling, I would be forever in your debt. Thanks in advance...

I'm not familiar with this particular MPM model, but in my experience, most MPM's are Computer Controlled. There should be a CPU embedded somewhere within the machine. Check to see if it's getting power. (I'm assuming you're already checked fuses/circuit breakers). You should still be able to get some level of support from MPM regarding this machine. I'd give them a call and see if they can e-mail you a schematic. Might be a good idea to check the Power Requirements too. I had an issue a few years back when a "technician" working for me hooked a 120VAC machine up to 220VAC and fried three separate power supply units within the machine. That was a fun one to troubleshoot and repair. :-#

As mentioned previous, check all fuses & breakers. In the AC chassis (should be under black cover beind front, right door), remove cover and check main circuit breaker. Also should be two fuse housings next to breaker - if they are lit up amber, they are bad and need new fuse. Other fuses are in this chassis as well - check them. Seems obvious, but make sure your monitor is working. Make sure all e-stops work properly.
