UIC GSM and EPC5 <-> EPC9

Does anybody know is EPC9 plug-compatible with EPC5? I got one brand new EPC9, but can't bring USOS up. OS/2 boots, but then hangs-up during USOS initialization. I've browsed UIC archives, but can't find any relevant document, even if there exist one...
