Hi Everybody,

In our process we use syring flux for repair the boards, both SMT and PTH. I would like to know with your experiences what kind of flux is better for SMT and PTH repair, PEN or Syring flux??

It depends on the flux and the down-stream processing ... * If there is adequate down-stream cleaning: We are ambivalent. * If the flux is low residue and there in no down-stream cleaning: We don't like using a syringe because it squirts liquid flux that then flows unabated over a large portion of the board and under components to areas that never see the the temperature necessary to activate the flux and render it inert. * If the flux is OA and there is no down-stream cleaning: We suggest that you add down-stream cleaning.
