Un-reworkable Glue type | 19 August, 2011

Hi!

I am searching for a glue type which use for security purpose. The glue must not able to rework after full cure and fast curing time (within 5~10minutes).

I have some sample in hand, but it seem quite expensive considering the volume that I am going to dispense on PCB.

Appreciate someone that currently using this kind of glue can give me some suggestion.

Thanks.

A good epoxy should work. Removal would require damaging the board, component, what ever it is attached to. I know Hardman makes a bi-pack ambient cure epoxy that we used in the lab. Search the web for epoxy suppliers, they'll offer various cure schedules.

Hi blnorman Yes! I have search few types, but none of them seem cheaper than what I have on hand now. Target to get glue with cost lower than USD70 per 30cc.

We use a 2 part epoxy from DEVCON it's listed as 5 minute FR 2 part epoxy.

We have used a lot of the material with excellent results, specifically for security reasons.
