Hi,

As many times people sudgested here you call them to bring machine in and make a demo. This is one way to compare. Another way is you go to them. Get a board and a data for it(ask them what they need) and go to dealer or manufacturer. Then ask them to do everything infront of you. That way you can get an idea which one has better software, is easier to teach....and so on.

thanks Evtimov the problem is that we are a company from Argentina and we have not got a representation of Mirtec, Yestech have a representation but we can read that Mirtec is good and need the experiencie of all that tested these machines

We agree Evtimov that the best way to evaluate AOI is to test known good and known bad boards on a machine, preferably in your own plant.

Be aware that I can run all of your boards and assure you that there will not a single false call. It's just that I'm just not saying anything about escapes.

Contact Mirtec and tell them about your dilemma

I'm going to suggest Mirtec. I've worked with many different manufacturers of AOI's (Cyberoptics, Mirtec, Omron, and Yestech) and if I could recommend one AOI for sure it would be the Cyberoptics above all.

But when asking between the Yestech and Mirtec I would have to go with the Mirtec. I have 3 years of programming experience on Yestech and I really don't care for them.

Most in the forum with AOI experience would say that Mirtec and Yestech as pretty close. If you have Yestech representation but no Mirtec rep, your question is basically answered. Regardless of the machine you purchase, you WILL require assistance from your rep early in the game, and response time will be critical to you, lest your investment begin to resemble a boat anchor. You must evaluate what you are trying to achieve, what you are planning to inspect, what limitations might be inherent in the different AOI machines you might evaluate. You would likely not go wrong with either Y-Tec or M-Tec, as both are proven performers, but having not seen you projects, and not knowing your CM style, it is hard to make any kind of recommendation.
