Wanted: Impact sensor in roll form for Pick & Place SMT usage... | 19 June, 2001

Hello everyone. I'm trying to locate (if it exists) an impact sensor (which would activate if hit or jarred) on some sort of roll form with 2 leads which could be easily placed and soldered through automation. If anyone knows of a supplier, I would very much appreciate it - we may need a large order once we finish the prototyping stage.

A couple of years ago, we had a rash of DOA shipments to a customer. We thought someone could be drop-kicking the packaged product down the stairs. So, we shipped with BIG red labels and impact indicators on the boxes that said "Hey fine person, if you�re damaging our product, we going to catch you!!". Interestingly, our DOA problems ended.
