Does anyone know of software that will allow offline programing for the KME CM62. Is the CM62 capable of offline programing?

Are you speaking of the circa late 80's CM62 with mechanical centering? If so, I had 3 of those at one time that used old cassette tape drives. Retrofitting them with floppy drives and a host would have cost >80k at the time ('94). All 3 machines together were worth only about 90k. Obviously, we chose not to do the retrofit.

If these are not the same machines, consider the above a lesson in dinosaur technology.

Good Luck.

They are the mechaniclly centered machines, but they have the floppy drive installed. They are dinasuar's, but you don't have to spend millions on production lines to build boards. You never know what people have in their warehouses. I'm sure that if I bought the host form KME it would cost me $80k, but someone else may have it and still be able to make some money on it.

Brian,

You are correct. With a good maintenance program and a supply of parts, you can run the hell out of those machines. I have lived your situation and understand the challenges. Making old equipment work well can be very satisfying.

Good luck..
