I have a small resistor pack that I need to place(EXB-N8V510JX). It has Concave terminals not sure how with any of our equipment how to make a terminal with a half circle cut into it. Any help would be great.

I'm not completely sure what you're asking, but, I can say that I've placed these parts with MyData's and Philips machines.

Pick in the center of the part, and place in the center of the outline, and the terminals should line up with the pads on the board.

If you're asking about building a part for your library, consider using a square package, that doesn't consider the terminals.

Cheers, ..rob

That is what I'm currently doing. But we are getting errors with placement. I would like to insp. the lead them self.

Use fuji vision #12. That is for the resistor network types. You cant inspect the individual leads. Vision type 12 tell the CP that this is a rectangular chip with terminals. You don't need to define the leads in the PD just the overall shape of the part.

We run these all the time. Agree with other posts. I tried a few times to read leads on these with mixed results. Leadless is best. On GSM - run as leadless or chip and crank the lighting up on 2.6 or 4.0 ULC. You should get good centering.

The CP4 will place them all day with no rejections. If they are small target the CP4, if they are large, select the GSM.

Yes CP4 with vision type 12 will place these no problem. I am even putting these down on an old CP3 with no problems.

When I used the 12 code I saw worse placement then with the 254 that I used in the past. So far my best and most consistent results came for the GSM with only looking at the outside edges of the part. Thanks again for everyone’s help.
