Hey Rdubya,

Thanks for your help! Apparently that was not the problem. The Midas head had to be all the way down below the lower locking solenoid. After rebooting machine there this error went off.

However I faced another issue, machine still unable to initialise, went to system and checked the Hydra Z motor it gave me this new message:

F-MOT-READPOS HYDRA Z/190: Servo program no initiated

Any advise on this? :)

Start by getting into the maintenance menu, and manually installing the Servo program for all MOTs.

If they install fine, you can check the Z-motor while you're in the maintenance menus. Make sure that the z-locks are unlocked before checking the motor.

If you can't load the servo program, or, upon re-booting, you have the same problems, it's time to start swapping MOT cards. If the problem follows the MOT card, you'll need a new card.

Dear Rob,

Got to the maintenance menu, under the Motor section, I selected Z motor and tried to initiate motor, there was no movement on the machine and I had the error message as below:

F-MOT-MSETDYN Z/12: Position counter dead

I suspect that servo and everything else are all working fine; tried initiate other motors, cameras etc all ok except for this, Hydra Z will give me the error message that I posted prior.

Only problem that I can come up with will be the counter motor behind the DC motor for either Midas or Hydra head.

Any advise? :)

Hi, Brendan,

It sure sounds like it to me.

But, with the Z axis, there could be one other thing to check.

On my old TP, there were z-locks...two pistons that pointed sideways around the head travel. Initializing the z-motors did not move the z-locks...so, if you were in the maintenance menu, and loading the MOT programs manually, then initializing the Z, the head would bang against the z-lock, and fail. The z-locks had to be manually unlocked before initialization.

Now..the only thing is, I can't recall if there were still z-locks on my MY machine or not. If there are no z-locks, then, it does sound like the z-motor/counter are toast.

Dear Rob,

Thank you for your quick response!

There were Z locks on the Midas head area, 2 little solenoids like you mentioned. Previously I had the first error code (F-AXIS-C/9) and after fiddling around, randomly manual unlock the Z locks it came to life, X axis head began to move and it was time for celebration until this error code came up. :(

Anyway after much thinking through and confirming all was well, I believed that the counter could be toast like what you mentioned earlier.

I was thinking if there is possibility that I can just change the counter or the motor itself? The counter on the DC motor on Midas was fixed with its spec details facing inside so I was unable to write down. Perhaps yours maybe facing outwards?

Got posted a picture not sure if it gets through here.

Warmest regards Brendan

Brendan,

Unfortunately, I no longer have MYData equipment in my shop (I moved to a new company), so, I can't help with finding part numbers.

I do know that you can buy the motor/counter units separately on the open market..and, I think you can buy them as a complete unit. You just need the part number to be able to do it.

You could check with Lewis and Clark (www.lewis-clark.com); they tend to carry a lot of MyData spare parts, and may be able to help you with what you need.
