We are doing hand soldering for the 'BATTERY LITHIUM COIN CELL 3V CR 2032 but now we want do the soldering through wave soldering process ,for avoiding the shortckt only one pin will get solder through wave process and other pin will be soldered manually , Pls advice the process and impact of the temperature on the battery

To be honest, I have never had success wave soldering or reflow soldering batteries, regardless of their intended use.

If you're going to continue a manual operation to solder one pin, I'd suggest that you just solder the entire component in by hand. I don't think you're going to gain any efficiencies by manipulating the part so that only one pin solders, and then manipulating the part to solder the remaining pin.

But, if, for some reason, you are going to continue down this road...contact your vendor or manufacturer for the battery that you're using, and ask for their application notes related to wave soldering.

Cheers, ..rob

First, don't exceed the maximum temperature of the battery, say 85*C [I don't know your specifics]

Second, don't short the terminals of the battery.

Third, the best way to wave solder a battery is: * Insert an insulating tab between the battery and one of the connectors of a battery holder. * Wave solder the battery holder

Forth, for the battery holder phobic ... * Spot weld tabs on the battery * Mount the battery on the board with the tabs oriented so that both don't contact the wave at the same time

Fifth, hand solder
