Mainly for ERSA machines, but I welcome other machines info also.

What are you guys getting in regard to nozzle life? I am running an ERSA 3/45 with 4 solder pots in it. 2 lead solder and 2 leadfree. I'm very pleased with the nozzle life I'm getting currently, but have nothing to reference it to except my old 40/50 that was replaced. My lead soldering nozzles are dating back to 4/15 and 6/15. The leadfree nozzles date back to 8/15.

That is amazing nozzle life. One thing you did not mention is the amount of usage. We have a product we run two shifts, 6 days a week; we typically get a month out of one nozzle. We make our own in house.

Lead nozzles last longer than lead-free nozzles. Our lead-free nozzles typically last 9-12 months but we are only running an average of 15 hours per week on a RPS Rhythm system using SN100C solder.

I'm normally running 8 hours a day M-F, and an infrequent Saturday. My nozzles are from Pentagon EMS.
