UIC VCD E-Palm/Limit Switch Fault. | 6 March, 2018

Hello everyone, I am having trouble with our UIC VCD through-hole pick and place machines. It has been sitting around for several years now and I had to replace half the gaskets in the machine which werecausing slow movement. I'm getting an error message on the connected terminal saying; "Machine waiting for NO E-PALM/LIMIT SWITCH" "Machine stopped because E-PALM/LIMIT SWITCH"

This has, in turn, caused half of the pneumatic system to become inactive (the half which is connected to the cut and clinch arms.)

I have checked every limit switch and they are all clear. The e-palm buttons are all functioning properly and I even followed the wiring from each limit switch to the control board with no problem. The IO board is fully functioning.

Please help. If someone knows a company who still performs repairs and maintenance on-site please let me know. Thank you everyone!!

Contact Dan Chretien at Southwest Automation Consultants. He has helped me with our old UIC axial inserter. He has a website.

Do you know how to read the I/O in the controller at your monitor? It's been too long for me to describe the process but I seem to remember that you can read the I/O and see exactly which switch is tripped, i.e., reads 1 instead of 0.

Hi . If the machine was not connencted to power ,the battery failed and the controllers exec was lost or corrupted. Check the bettery on J11 controler ,if it is dead this is the case. Change the battery and reload the exec. There is an exec file in terminal (the host computer) , When you reload the exec. then configer the system by type sys on terminal and configer it .
