Hi everyone,

First of all, sorry for bad english, I'm a French student...

I am a beginner in photography and I work with my friend who is intermediate.

I bought for us a new monitor, a touchscreen, to use lightroom more comfortably.

It's Meko stylus by Asin: B00N1BRWLA on Amazon USA.

I have a good computer, with Windows 8.1, 16 Gb RAM, 1 To SSD only for the OS and my applications (which are, in fact, just lightroom and photoshop), 1 To HDD for my pictures (and I backup them to a NAS) and an Intel Core i7. I have an NVIDIA 720m as a graphic card.

The touchscreen works perfectly but, the pen isn't convenient at all. It's small, but the tip is big, and I cannot use it properly. When I want to use the brush, it behaves like a mouse and move the picture instead of applying the brush ! (I hope it's clear for everyone)

I'd like to find a pen with buttons, so when I don't press the button it moves the photo, and when I press it activates the brush. I've spent hours looking for that, asked Meko on Twitter, but found nothing compatible with my monitor (I've tried a Surface Pen, but the Bluetooth doesn't paired). :wideyed:

So, I would like to know if some of you knows a tip to configure Lightroom to be used with my pen...:rolleyes::rolleyes: Because I don't want to buy a all-in-one PC, I love my computer and my screen...

My version of Lightroom is 6 CC.

First, I don't know dip about your Meko stylus by Asin: B00N1BRWLA on Amazon USA, but I won't let that stop me.

Second, your English is fine.

Third, you found an excellent forum to join, just maybe not one that focuses on photography questions as much as some others. More often than not, we talk about electronic manufacturing issues: my machine is broken, my component solders poorly, living with my boss’ decision, etc

Forth, as mentioned earlier, consider other forums that are focused a little more on photography, such as:

* Reddit AskPhotography [ https://www.reddit.com/r/AskPhotography/ ]

* Discussion Forums at Digital Photography Review [ https://www.dpreview.com/forums/ ]

* Ugly Hedgehog® - Photography Forum [ http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/ ]

Fifth, more to the point of your question, I use Lightroom also. I have a BIG-ASS display that I can color correct. I use a Wacom Intuos Art Small Pen and Touch pad [ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010LHRFYU/?coliid=I3FHLIRYJK8ZR2&colid=B0RROE81JA4&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it ] The Huion H610PRO Painting Drawing Pen Graphics Tablet [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GIGGS6A/?coliid=I2QHDLMS1QWUN8&colid=B0RROE81JA4&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it ] looks like a good, less expensive alternative.

Sixth, consider adding offsite storage to backup your HDD / NAS arrangement. If you have a fire or break-in, you're, how do you say it, putain. I swap 2 HDDs. The first is at home to take the this weeks backup. The other is a my sister's house with the backup from last week. Cloud storage would work. A friend transfers files to a second NAS at his parents house.

Finally neither Amazon nor those other sites give me anything for posting links to their sites. Merde

Hi davef, thanks for your suggestion. I thoroughly read your all ideas given to me. Good. Maybe for the first choice, people may choose Apple Pencil stylus as they think Apple is a very old brand so its quality must be excellent.Secondly, apple pencil stylus can be used on ipad or iphone. However as far as I am concerned, that is not true at all.I used it at a retailing shop in California. It is soft in hand, but it is rather very heavy. So I think it is very suitable for those looking for a light stylus. Secondly, Apple Pencil is too expensive. The original brand is rather expensive.So it is not good for those that want to buy stylus with little money. Thirdly, based on my using experience, Apple Pencil can not be used on iphone or other electrical devices. So before buying Apple Pencil, you'd better consider more.

Why are you trying to use a stylus with Lightroom? Use a mouse. I can understand using a stylus with Photoshop, perhaps.

Suggest you check the Lightroom help on https://helpx.adobe.com/ to see how others deal with it.

Thanks for your fast reply. As I think I want to use a stylus with the lighrroom, not only to draw, but also to make compatible with my lenovo ideapad stylus.
