We are considering a tabletop AOI primarily for rework purposes.

In 95% of the cases we would NOT have centroid data NOR Gerbers,

The area we would inspect would be in and around the BGA, QFN or LGA being replaced. In addition we would want o inspect the opposite side of the rework area.

For this use is this a good machine in terms of was of programming?

Other suggestions are welcome.

BWET Thanks

Would an inspection scope like a Tagarno not make more sense? (Or possibly even a 3D one). If you have no data or golden sample to feed an AOI I'm not sure its going to be a whole lot of use and you are only interested in one specific area

If you are just checking rework or for damage and not building boards you probably want a comparator instead - so in Mirtec terms an old MV2 or something new and low cost and much simpler like: https://www.quins.de/QuinsWeb/Systems/system_easy.jsp
