Hello lads. I run a Sequencer 2596 and have had good luck. Just recently it sounds like air is not making it into the machine. With the machine palmed down it has the required 55-60psi going in, when I release the Estop the psi drops to about 30 and lots of air is rushing out air muffler. The heads will not fire correctly, 1-20 will fire slower than normal, 21-40 and the 41-60 heads will not fire at all. Any and all ideas welcome. Thank you for the help and any information you can.

Jim,

It's been a long time since I worked on one of these so this is going to be a general idea as to the issue. There's a solenoid valve that is controlled by the E-stop ckt. When in E-stop in stops air from entering and vents the pressure lines inside to the muffler. This is the first place to look. If this valve is gummed up it can hang in the middle and vent the inlet air directly to the muffler.

See if you can manually activate it while you are in E-stop to see if it will switch without the blow-by.

It can also be any of the other 60 valves for each head.

Good luck. Jerry

DISCLAIMER: I've forgotten a lot more than I remember!

It does sound like the dump valve shuttle is stuck and it's bleeding air.

It doesn't sound like a stuck feeder because (correct me if I'm wrong) I *think* there are hall effect switches on those to prevent the machine from running if they don't return to the rest position. Not 100% sure about that....they may only be there to signal completion of the cut, but not return to rest. Man, it's been a long time!

Thank you lads for all the help. It happened to be the first solenoid on top of the air muffler. Swapped it out with a newer one, air instantly to the rest of the machine.
