How can I transfer projects (preferably all) from one machine to another? The transfer by conversion VIOS-UFOS-VIOS does not transfer everything - they are coordinates of elements, but do not transfer their names, origin for PCBs, badmarks etc. I tried from VIOS 2.18 std -> UFOS -> VIOS 2.13 std (2 files - *.brd and *.fdr).

UFOS is a much earlier format which has very truncated details over VIOS , so as an intermediate going from later formats such as the versions of VIOS you are suggesting, is probably not the best, or more succintly it sucks. Send me a copy of your input VIOS file and quite what is the difference that you are trying to achieve. I would think at a cursory glance you may not have to change anything.

Is there any way to copy files in the VIOS format directly from the machine and upload them to another machine? It seems to me that all files are stored in one database :(

Just load it to a PC and then back to the next machine

But how ? single PCBs can only be exported (UFOS or TXT) or you can do a whole backup (together with the machine settings) - there are no individual files that you can rip from the machine :(

Isn't the txt extension file a VIOS file?

There is a difference between VIOS and VIOS TEXT. If you want to copy the program from one machine to another exactly, I would suggest you do VIOS. Just insert a floppy and perform "Make PCB Data Disk". This formats the disk in VIOS format. Next go to Data Manager and select the floppy. You'll see your machine (C Drive) on one table and the floppy (A) on the other. Now select the VIOS program from the machine to the floppy.

Take the floppy to the other machine and perform reverse copying. That's all you have to do. You'll get a replica of the original program.

I strongly suggest removing the floppy drive from the machine and replace it with a USB emulator. Then you can use a USB drive to copy programs.

You can write to me at vinit@prosem.in if you need any further information.

Thank you for your help. I copy via a .txt file (VIOS - txt) - transfers ALL data. And of course I already have an FDD emulator :)
