Tape and Reel | 14 October, 1999

I was wanting to know if there was any type of formula that I could use to determine the correct packaging for a SMD For example, if I have the component measurements, can I find out what the correct width and pitch of the tape it comes in should be? Thanks Larry J

Larry, What's happening. You can get this information from the manufacturer. All you need is the manufacturing part number. You should be able to get this from the purchasing department. Once you have this info just open up their website and follow the steps. If you have problems getting the mabufacturers part number for a particuliar vendor try cross referencing it with another supplier and start the process over. Hope this helps,

Larry, If you are asking about how to package your component in tape and reel, I would contact the 3M company. There are many tape companies out there, but my company has been very happy with 3M. If they don't have a tape that's stock, they'll guide you through the design process of what you need.
