SPI/AOI Board Support - Correcting for Sag/Warpage

SPI/AOI Board Support - Correcting for Sag/Warpage | 29 January, 2020

I'm currently running Grid-Lok in my printer and have used it almost exclusively in the past. That being said, I'm looking for a solution to help correct/remove sag and warpage on PCBs that will run through our TRI SPI and AOI.

I have no doubt that Grid-Lok would work and probably work quite well without much intervention from operators and/or techs, but I'm curious if anyone has an option they think would work comparable or better than Grid-Lok?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

I used Grid-Lok and some other PCB support from Quik-Tool (don't ask me model :) ), which is pretty similar to Grid-Lok, in Viscom machines. We also had jigs for high volume products similar to those you would use for PCB routing, but with obviously smaller width, fitted to the fixed conveyor.

I wonder if the needles from stencil printers could be used or not in AOIs as well, but those have to be positioned by line/AOI operators which is human factor.
