I need help. I have a old panasert MV2C pick and place machine that was working great until we had to shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and now everything is off. We had the system data saved but even after we restored everything from Japanese to English the machine has been acting funny. We can start to program the machine but when you are done the numbers appear completely off and it will say the xy is offlimits. Anyone had to restore this machine after a long period being turned off? Maybe if we get a floppy disk with the another copy if the system data might help? Please let me know if you can help.

That brings me back, I haven't touched one of those in 15 years. But If I remember right, some of the control cards have rechargeable coin cell on board and they might be weak. Do you have access to Panasonic support?

Thank you for your reply. I tried to contact Panasonic support but even them have a hard time getting information on this machines. I have been waiting for them to let me know if they help us but no luck yet. I did replaced the a few backup batteries on a few cards. On the manual I found a hidden screen called "Parameter settings" but I don't have any introductions on how to get to it. The support from Panasonic didn't know how to do it either but looks like it's where you can select the language you want to use on the machine.

My machine does have option F7 to enter the password. I tried to enter the password on different screens but no luck as of now. And not it gave me a deviation counter overflow error? I believe it has to do with the machine data we entered on the machine...does that makes sense to you?

I really appreciate your help. Thank you

could you post a photo of the keypad of the MV2c? maybe that would jog my memory. I'm about to get off work, so I won't be able to answer before tomorrow.

I was able to access the secret screen! But now it keeps giving me that counter overflow error when I try to do origin. That wasn't happening before when it was all in Japanese so I think it may have something to do with the machine system data we reloaded or something I changed when I was try to get to the hidden screen. Let see if I can send you a picture. Thank you very much for your time!!

It's good you were able to access the secret screen. Counter overflow I think relates to the machine having lost it's machine origin position data. Do you have a printer in the machine to print the machine data? This is very long time ago for me, and the procedure to calibrate the machine axes is not something easy to remember.

It's been a long time since I worked on Panasonic machines. I might have them confused with another brand but check to see if you can have the dimensions in different units. If the machine is in inches and you loaded a file in mm I think it could give you the overflow.

Thank you! I think the rotary counter motor went out or the belt broke? The left side is moving fine the right doesn't move at all. If I push the right side very close to origin point some times the machine will complete the process. I'll check that out today. Thank you for your help.

We just came out with a new problem with these machines. We had to shutdown for a a few weeks due to Covid-19 and now they have errors when we start them up. Looks like the back up batteries died and after we replaced all of them the settings are completely gone. I'm about to put hammer the crap out them soon!! Any suggestions?

How are you? Thank you for your time and all you help. I hope you can help me out one more time? The machine got reset again and normally I would just enter the date backwards as a password and everything it's good now the date has ; character in-between and I don't see how to type that character from the key pad. I tried many different combinations but no luck so far. Did you ever encounter that issue?
