Yamaha YV88X / Philips Assembleon EMERALD-X optimalization problem | 21 April, 2021

Hello. I want two elements to be PERMANENT at the back (e.g. position 107 and 114) and the rest at the front. Unfortunately optimization always "adds" other elements to the rear, even though I choose the preference at the front. Setting elements as "static" doesn't change anything. How to get around it? I want to leave some rarely used parts at the back of the machine (I have to walk around it) and load the rest in the front.

Change Feeder position from 'Automatic' to 'Relative'. And enter the feeder location of whatever rear feeder you want it to be at. Optimisation won't move it then.

This is what I do when I want certain feeders to stick to certain positions:

put all my feeders on feeder slot 0. Then put the feeders I do not want to move to the feeder slot they are in (program to spot 4,21 or what ever feeders slot you want them in)

Then using the optimization, under where you can select move feeders or not, select no feeders slot assigned move feeders.

The wording I am using (im not at my machine ATM)is different but this option will make sure that if no feeder slot is assigned the feeder will move, and if you already have set a feeder slot the feeder will not move

That's the correct way when optimizing a new program or with less part numbers. But when reoptimizing a running program, it may not be so convenient to change all feeder numbers to '0'. Here is where changing the position to 'Relative' helps without changing anything else.

Ok i did this: when optimizing PCBs, you can add "fixed PCB" - the machine treats this PCB as the one for which the feeders have reserved space. I enter places in such a PCB that are to be omitted during the allocation. It works very well - selected places for feeders are skipped.
