Samsung Fiducial size question | 2 June, 2021

Hello wonderful people. Does anyone know if I can get away with a 1mm fiducial on a Samsung CP45, I know the manual states the beam is .6mm and Fid's should be 2mm. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks, James in Canada have a great day everyone.

Yes, most of my fiducials are 1 mm. BUT, you may consider going 1.5mm or even better 2 mm because in my experience PCB manufacturers will NOT check fiducial shape during PCB testing. This goes for fiducials that are placed on panel frame. Fiducilas that are placed on PCB directly are mostly ok ans CP45 dosnt have an issue with them. Smaller fiducials are more often distorted than lager ones. So if you can, go with bigger fiducials. Changing fiducials in mid of assembly job means you need to set all coordinates all over again.
