Hi Does anyone care to venture an opinion, whether to buy 2nd hand low hour (17k-30k hours ) YS12F , or a NEW Hanwa-Samsung SM482 ?

feeders are a little cheaper on the Samsung, but not much. I have a large cache of CL from my Yamaha YV88ii and Kayo machines. to be sold.

Samsung has higher feeder posiiton count. I could almost buy two low hour YS12Fs. I know the internals of Yamaha and many robot types... so complexity doesnt bother me.

Dear Boddy In fact, they are incomparable. But I personally recommend that you choose YS12F. Since you have a large number of yamaha old-fashioned feeders, I think you must be more familiar with the yamaha brand. And are there many QFN.LGA.BGA.TQFP etc components on your product? If you want, you can send me an email sales07@goldlandsmt.com, we will help you, organize a copy of the detailed parameters of these two machines and equipment and send it to you. In this way, you will definitely have the answer.

I am currently running 6 Hamwha/ Samsung machines. I have no experience with the other machine you mentioned. We like our Samsungs. I have SM482, SM421 and DECANs.

There are less expensive feeders online. They look pretty much identical and work just fine. I have them marked so we know when a feeder has an issue, whether it's from Samsung or not. There's no appreciable difference in the frequency of feeder issues between the two.

New, the factory does super deals on feeders as a package. But since I'll only run the machine machine 500 hours per year, we can get a pretty clean used machine 1-3 years old for about 50% of the new money. The lighting system for the head is pretty impressive.
