BTU VIP speed configuration | 25 October, 2021

Can anyone shed any light on the Speed configuration setting on a BTU VIP70? We're using Winconv2.4a if that matters. There are only 3 editable fields in the configurator, Pulses per unit - Power - Distance. I'm struggling to find out what constitutes a Unit, what power to set or what Distance relates to.I'm assuming all 3 of these go into the calculation for configuring things. Any pointers will be greatly received !

Thanks

Here's a link to this section in the manual.

Thanks for the file, it explains pretty much everything we needed.

It would seem we have more problems than just that now, I've got the conveyor physically running at about 18 i/m but the Actual speed display on the screen reckons it's several hundred inches per minute.

Looks like we'll probably have to get someone in to give it a proper ground-up setup. Thanks

Update - Solved

On talking with BTU they mentioned that if the conveyor is always running full speed then cleaning out the motor brush area with compressed air will cure it. I'm guessing that the carbon dust had encroached onto the encoder. A good blast out and recalibrating the speed worked perfectly

Glad to hear it was a cheap and easy fix.

Thanks for posting the solution; this may come in handy some day for our vip70.
