SMTnet Is Moving To New, Fast Web Server | 27 May, 1999

Hello Smtneters,

Due to the intolerable performance of the server that SMTnet currenlty resides, we have initiated a move to a new server (Dual PIII 550, 512Meg). There will be a down time, but we are not sure exactly how long it will be. I suspect at most 3 hours, starting at 9:00am ET. After this, SMTnet will be assigned a new IP address, so if you are not using "www.smtnet.com" as the server address, then please start doing so, because the old numerical IP will be outdated in the future.

This will make the site much faster, with less errors, and should not be down much at all anymore.

Thank you all for your patience and support. Cliff

move postponed | 28 May, 1999

It is taking more time than we thought to set up the server. So, SMTnet will move this weekend or Monday, after the server is completely setup.

Thanks, Cliff
