Choosing a spray fluxer.

Choosing a spray fluxer. | 6 April, 1999

I am getting ready to purchase a spray fluxing system for a no-clean process. I have narrowed it down to the Nordson or Dover system. Does anyone have any experience with either. If so can you relate with me. I am a little leary of the Nordson because of the fixed head on bigger boards. With the lateral movement of the dover head I feel much more comfortable.

I'm a big fan of the traversing head types of fluxers. It's very difficult to spray a consistent pattern without one. Although I have no personal experience with the two brands you mentioned, I have had both fixed- and traversing-head models, and the traversing head offers much more consistency in the spray pattern. Fixed head models seem to put more flux in the middle of the spray pattern and less on the edges.

When I get back to my office Monday, I'll email you the setup for testing the uniformity of the pattern.

Because here in my componay I only use Thermopaper for Fax.

thank you

I dont have too much experience with NORDSON SPRAY FLUXE (the Fixed head), but as chrys told you, this kind model put more flux in the middle of board and less on the edges of boards. Please check if there is possibility to use traversing-head model of ELECTROVERT, KOKI. etc, because this kind model you have a good application and it is easier to control of set-ups.

Good Luck and best regards
