fuji Qp-242 downtime | 18 February, 1999

I am working on a project for one of my classes. Currently our group is looking at the fuji Qp-242 surface mount machine. The problem that we are focusing on is how to minimize dowtime of this mahcine. When the Qp-242 runs out of parts all modules within the machine shut down while it is being reloaded. Is there any options out there that will keep the rest of the modules working while the one module is being reloaded? If so what is the cost? Also is there a better option to using reels for parts?

Hi Brent, Fuji has a solution to solve your problem. The solution Fuji has is called "Independent Function" and this function keeps working rest of module even though one module stops due to parts run out. But this function requires hardware modification. It is better for you to inquire to Fuji America for further details. Hope this information helps you.

| Hi Brent,

I have heard from a Fuji related person that this function will work with the QP-3. Not sure of the machine release date yet, but you may be able to check with your regional sales person.
