Be sure that you are using the correct take up wheel with the correct feeder. There are two distinct types of take up wheels, ones with the plastic glue in tabs and ones without. If you use the take up wheel with the glue in tabs on a feeder intended for the non-glue in tabs, the tabs will break in a hurry. The locking tabs on the feeders intended for the non-glue in take up wheels are thicker and flex the glue in tabs beyond their breaking point.
