"volcano" soldering | 22 September, 1998

I'm looking for information on "volcano" soldering or mini-wave soldering. I need to solder a leaded device, thru-hole, on a already populated smt PCB. I want to do localized soldering on the pins of the device. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The fountain lists for about $3,800. We have one in house and I have used it personally, it works great. There are different size nozzles to use for different applications. The company is EPS (800) 783-3337 Rob

OK industries used to sell a table top system that didn't cost that much (under 5K$) They dicontinued it as I last heard. A new system is available from APS, and sells for even less. I think APS url is www.apsgold.com if not look under your search engine using "lead forming". Good luck.
