Selective Soldering

Gentlemen, Can anyone provide information on selective soldering systems that compete with Ersa's VersaFlow? Does anyone have experience with this machine or other machines of this nature? My company is considering acquiring to increase technical capability with double-sided mixed. We are wondering if this is the answer. Thanks in advance. George Henning

Have you considered using a masking wave solder pallet as opposed to going with new equipment. Utilizing Gerber files we have succesfully designed and manufactured this type of pallet for over five years. They work really well, unless the board has very tall components (over 8 mm like aluminum electrolyitc caps) and do not suck up capital like selective soldering systems do. If pallets are not an option, Pillarhouse makes some nice systems. I've never used them, but I've checked them out at the trade shows and they seem pretty slick. Their number is (847) 593-9080.
