Wavesoldering TSOP's | 14 September, 1998

I am trying to find out if it is possible to wavesolder TSOP's. If so , what should the footprint be like, and how should the wavesolder process be set up ? Alternatively can PLCC's be wavesoldered ? I would greatly appreciate any help. Regards Frank Ferdinandi

Debridging can be tricky, if you don't have a knife you may want to orient them at 45 degree angles so that the trailing row isn't one big bridge. As for TSOP's, I think that's kind of dicey, at best. I've never done it, and I'm not sure I'd try it given the tiny bend radii and reliability issues that go along with them. Plus, you're talking about a pretty fine pitch for SMT wave soldering. If anybody has waved TSOP's please post it. I'd love to know how they turn out.
