Looking for a de-taping machine! | 16 June, 1998

We have a need for a de-taping machine that will take components (SOIC8, 14, 16) from carrier tape and into tubes. Please contact me if you have a system or know of one that we can purcahse. Thanks! Diane...

Diane- The only machines that I have personally seen for this purpose have been custom built...there may however, be companies that do build such items. I'm rather new in the industry and haven't seen all there is to see, and probably never will due to the constant metamorphose of the industry. for future reference though, specify to your purchasing agent that the parts need to be ordered in tubes and not tape and reel. this would probably be easier than having to tube the parts yourself. Hope this helps any. -Ben

Wow, that's a switch; I've been looking at finding someone to take the tube parts and convert them to tape and reel. Dealing with Vibrator feeders are much more tempermental than T&R; and I can place more without the constant reloading; with less miss-picks. The best way is to specify the packaging at the time of purchase or to ask for a trade-in. Good Luck, Scott
