Hand Lotions For Operators

We use them, but we never thought about them. WHAT ARE THEY? The hand lotion we provide for our operators. BACKGROUND: Operators hands take a beating. They 1 Work in a humidity controlled 35 to 50%RH environment that is drying 2 Wash before and after breaks, minimum 3 Are sometimes elbow deep, even though they're not supposed to be, in fluxes and other hazardous materials 4 Other stuff Civilian hand lotions leave non-ionic residues on boards. So a specialized hand lotion is required. SITUATION: Some peddler recommended a lotion and we've used it since. Happy campers. QUESTIONS FOR Y'ALL: What are these lotions? Why aren't they greasy? Or are they greasy and we just haven't noticed it? Are there different base formualtions? Is one better etc etc TTYL Dave F

Hmmmm...I don't know if I should be giving these secrets away like this...lemme think about it for a minute...................okay, I'll tell ya'...but you gotta promise not to tell anybody, okay? Come on, PROMISE!...and un-cross those fingers too! (geeze, he thinks I just fell offa the cabbage truck yesterday!) Okay, here's the secret ingredient: Toe-jam....that's right, that funky stuff that grows between yer toes!! Naw, I was just joshin' ya! Actually, it's a bunch of stuff that has names so long that I can't pronounce them right...kinda' like the stuff you read on the back of a box of Coco-puffs in the mornin'....seriously! The main things they keep out of "ESD" lotions is lanolin and silicone for obvious reasons, (solder problems...) you guys are silly.... ;-) we use a lotion called Hand Guard from Chemtronics. If someone has dry skin, the constant monitor will do a constant irritating beep until lotion is applied. So the stuff does work. -Sherry
