We are having 3 MPM UP-2000 printer & 1 AP-25 printer with us.

I would like to have the technical guidance for my following application.

For one of our model, there is a requirement of Glue & solder paste on same side of the PCB. Currently we are using glue dispenser & Solder paste printer for this. But glue dispensing takes lot of time & thruput becomes very less. So we want to go for Solder paste printing & glue printing on the same side of the PCB.

In this connection, my queries are :

1. What will be the process flow for this ?? 2. What kind of stencils, I have to use for Solder paste printing & glue printing ? 3. What kind of squeezee is to be used for Solder Paste & glue printing ? 4. Can our existing printers be used for this application ? 5. Any other guidlines.

Just print solder paste first & then print adhesive with pump printing process (this is first invented by DEK).

OK, I'll bite.

How you can set a stencil down on a printed board and run a squeegee across it (even if it's a proflow head, it's still a squeegee, right?) without disturbing the printed paste?

This sounds like it could be a SIPAD solid solder application.

Bring the boards in with the solderpaste already on them in a flattened solid form. Then you could print glue on them without disturbing wet paste.

1.Print glue. (Might take a little different stencil) 2.Place components in glue and onto the SIPAD ssd's 3.Spray flux? 4.Reflow

Might work, I'd have to see the design to be sure.

A "Pumpprint" stencil refers to a thick DEK stencil with pockets routed-out on the underside, so it will clear any THT leads, paste/glue deposits, etc., and not squish them. It's called pummprint because it was developed to use the ProFlow-type head (although you theoretically can use blades).
