Does anybody have problem with 8 mm paper component reels?. when feeder indexs component, the tape is not separated form the components completely. soemtimes it takes up the paper from the tape.( I believe it is because of tape has sticky material ). Any input will be appreciated.

Sarry, Not to sure what your asking but here's an idea. step 1: If you can change vendors: change vendors. step 2: If you cannot change: Show them your problem.

If nothing gets resolved, work on step 1.

Hi Sarry,

it�s a mess sometimes with those things. We all look for component issues and sometimes forget the packing material and how it handles. Those paper carriers often caused problems when for some reasons they were exposed to moisture during storage or shipment. What you can do is maintain a steady and "healthy" environment, put them in drybacks for shipment, establish a FIFO-system for them in your stock. That should help keeping them usable. If the vendor does that as well there should be no serious problem with that kind of material.

If this is a problem you see with all your paper tape, you may want to talk with your machine vendor. Sometimes a sharper blade in the feeder,which peels off the cover tape, helps to keep the carrier tape together.
