PLCC68 Feeder | 25 July, 2000

We got PLCC 68 components on our new products and we are not sure on what feeder pitch we are going to use for the said part as we do not have 44mm feeders. Can anyone there help me what feeders are they using for the said parts so we won't end up buying the wrong one? Is it 44x44 mm feeder or 44x24mm or what?

thanks

I believe that the standard taping is 44x32

What type of machine are you placing the PLCC68 with? We place PLCC84 on a Fuji QP242 and we use Hover-Davis electronic feeders. They are expensive but worth the money as you can change the pitch to many setting as long as the width remains the same. you can measure the pitch and width to be certain you buy the right feeder. I will tell you more about them if you have any questions...feel free to email. Best of Luck!!

Gary: I agree with P that 44x24mm is more common, but yano, every single time I buy a fixed pitch feeder trying to get heads-up on an assembly requirement, it ends-up being the wrong pitch. Is it possible that your future component supplier might be able to give you guidance?

Re: PLCC68 Feeder for GSM1 | 25 July, 2000

our equipment is Universal GSM1. we can't afford the price of a 44 mm multi pitch feeder from universal that's why we are planning to settle with the fixed pitch feeder.

thanks

gary, If you know who you are buying the parts from( who is your vendor), you can either log on to there web site and find the packaging specs or contact them and ask. All you need is the manufacturing number of the part, and your purchasing group should have that.
