Any information on the difference in a thermal profile between lead free and regular Lead profile? Also, why use flux with Lead? Why not with Lead Free?

Thanks, Joe

Flux is used with both lead and lead free. Lead free usually or always uses a no-clean chemistry while lead uses both no-clean and water soluble dependent upon the application. As far as temp profiling a standard way to go is melting point + 30 C. for you peak temp. You need to know the alloy that you are working with. As far as the actual shape of the profile your paste manufacturer will provide the details for their paste.
