Essemtec FLX versus other p&p manuf. | 6 February, 2004

hi all

does anyone of you have experience with new p&p Essemtec FLX1020/1030? what are the advantages and disadvantages in practice? how you evaluate Essemtec machines in production? if you can choose between Essemtec and other p&p machine for high mix volume production what machine you will point (Assembleon?MYDATA?). Any practical proofs will be appreciate.

Hi Greg! I know that machines. What I can tell you is they are for low series production( The speed is almost 1/2 of given) and not very accurate(laser system). I don't know about the price. May be that's their big advantage.

Hello Greg, Have you ever seen an Essemtec in a real production run? I have. But actually placing BGA, MicroBGA with their Cyber optics laser alignment? Or with the supplementary camera (I think it was with a VGA resolution)? Well, that�s something I haven�t seen yet. Maybe they finally made it. But if I have to choose between Esemtec and other, I�d definitely go for the other.
