Thanks for the input Pete. I am using CP4 8x2 feeders. I have tried first with 0.7mm nozzle. Although pick up was OK, the camera saw a pregnant 0402 part which is as you know is 1mm by 0.5mm. I then moved to specially made 0.6mm nozzle to minimise the pregnant view under the camera. Pick up doesn't seem to be the problem. The problem is that the part after it is scanned by the camera goes no further, ie locks up. We played with the part data a bit, but it didn't help. I am using a 1994 vintage CP3, which fortunately accepts CP4 feeders.

Hello! We placed quite a few of 0402 with our CP3 using 0.7mm nozzle with the same feeder as you had. Pick up can be adjust and calibrated, but that is not the problem, I agreed with you on that part. The trick is you have adjust and play around with your camera gain and offset. This will take a while until you dial in. Not so complicate but required some patient. Our board had more than 150 components and 30 different part number and the placement yield rate was at acceptable 94% to 96%. Good luck.

Just wondering about feeders 8x2 with .7 nozzles and cover. Wondering if anyone that reads this has any extra feeders for sale or know of a house with some for sale? Got some 0402 coming my way and we only have 8x4 with 1.3 covers and 1.0 covers.
