Hi,

The thing with Formula 1 is that they can afford to throw innumerable bodies at tasks (i.e. 8 people to change 4 tyres, 1 to hold a jack, 1 or 2 to refuel, 1 to hold a stop sign, 1 to hold a fire extinguisher, 1 with a stop watch, and the bloke who stands there in shades looking cool..).

The thing about electronics manufacturing is we can't, as more people = less competitive.

Saying that drilling those that you do have to do things methodically, accurately & in a timely manor can't be bad.

A couple of years ago, the airline SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System) introduce this "Formula 1" concept in Sweden. They did it very succesfully. Many people misunderstand the Formula 1 concept; thinking that you need a lot of people to do "things" and also not capable of enything else. On the contrary to this; less people is necessary, but the job they are doing is extremely effective and the their job-function is more versatile. This is even more interesting because the workers now is a part of the team and are happy to do a good job in an efficient way. There are more companies out there who do things in the "Formula One" way. As for the Formula 1 video; I don't think it is proper to give away such a link nor the video, since there might be a copyright issue, if using it in a commercial way.
